Kids Maker Space Activity
Sewing helps youth ages 9 – 18 improve abilities like hand dexterity and communication skills. It also improves confidence, patience, and creativity.
7 Session Series
Tuesdays
4:30 – 6:00 pm
Room: Conference Area
Youth learn to use a sewing machine. They will make a pillowcase to start. Then they will make their choice of an elastic waist skirt, pants, or choice of shorts/capris. Youth will also learn useful hand stitches with a needle and thread to add buttons and sew seams closed.
Activities foster strong:

– Creative Thinking
– Problem Solving Skills
Most importantly, it helps youth gain the beneficial life skill of being able to repair torn or ripped items.
